Volunteers
Each of our volunteers is required to complete a multi-step screening process before serving in the Kids Focus Department. We always follow a two-adult policy. A volunteer is never alone with a child at any time.
Security Tags
All of our parents with children ages birth-5th grade receive a security tag. The numbers on these tags allow volunteers to call parents out of the service if their child becomes distressed or if there is a need for any reason. This also serves as a secure way to check children out to the proper people at the end of each service.
Worker/Child Ratios for Kids Focus
These ratios have been determined due to current space available as well as the ability to effectively carry out our vision of small groups within our areas. We reserve spaces in each area for visitors. We will never have less than two workers per room.
The following are the adult:child ratios for each area:
Babies:
Sleepers: 1:3 Maximum 3:9
Crawlers: 1:3 Maximum 2:6
Toddlers: 1:5 Maximum 2:10
Walkers: 1:5 Maximum 2:10
Preschool:
All rooms: 1:10 Maximum 3:15
Elementary:
K-2nd: Maximum 4:20
3rd - 5th Boys: Maximum 1:8 or 2:10
3rd - 5th Girls: Maximum 1:8 or 2:10
